In 2005 heb ik via de mail contact gehad met Howard en gevraagd hoe hij dat windschermpje gemaakt had. Met name het pasmaken ervan. Hij heeft toen geantwoord met onderstaand bericht. Misschien kun je het ergens een plek geven. Overigens, wij zijn eerst op pad gegaan zonder windscherm om te kijken of 'm écht nodig hadden. Tot nu toe blijkt dat niet het geval te zijn.

I don't have a detailed drawing of the windshield, but I can tell you how I worked out the shape needed. I made a paper and cardboard template that I put into position and then cut to get the perfect shape. Then I transferred the shape onto the plywood sheet and cut that to the correct shape. Finally, the wooden shape was tested again to make it perfect. Then, the plywood was covered in adhesive aluminium foil strips.


It works very well and the total cost would be about €6 for the foil tape.
(The plywood was free!) Even better too is the easy storage of the windshield beside the fridge unit. The size of the windshield exactly fits here and is not too high but easy to remove when needed.
